Meet Dr. Gunita Singh
Dr. Gunita Singh, voted a top dentist by Washingtonian Magazine from 2019-2026, believes in taking a whole person approach to dental care. She believes in making sure she improves the quality of life for her patients, whether it’s relieving their pain, restoring their smile, or keeping their teeth healthy. Getting to know her patients on a personal level is important to Dr. Singh in order to understand their needs and encourage open communication. She is very excited about working with the patients and keeping the fun and patient centered environment so she can continue delivering the highest level of care.
Dr. Singh received her Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University in 2005 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland in 2009. She then went on to do her one-year (hospital based) General Practice Residency in 2010 at the Lehigh Valley Health Network. That program offered the chance to learn a wide range of procedures from endodontics (root canals), extractions, cosmetics and prosthetic dentistry. Dr. Singh strives to stay up to date on techniques in restorative and cosmetic dentistry through continuing education.
She says, “Bringing a smile to my patients is the most rewarding thing about being a dentist.” Dr. Singh has been working with both adult and pediatric patients, delivering high quality care to families in Bethesda and Gaithersburg.
Dr. Singh grew up in Ontario, Canada and now resides in University Park, Maryland. She likes to do a variety of exciting things when not practicing such as traveling and outdoor activities in the summer, skiing in the winter, and even volunteering for local South Asian organizations. Dr. Singh is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Maryland State Dental Association.
Mary Ann Hopkins

Mary Ann has enjoyed working in dentistry for over 42 years. She is the welcoming smile that greets you and is always available to assist you with all your scheduling and insurance needs. Mary Ann had the pleasure of working for Dr. John Lippert since 1984 and is excited to bring her love of dentistry and her dedication to serving patients to the practice of Dr. Singh. Mary Ann graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 1983 and is married to her high school sweetheart after reuniting 23 years ago. Mary Ann is the mother of two beautiful children and a grandmother to her three wonderful granddaughters. She has a soft spot for the Caribbean island of Anguilla and is most at home snorkeling or relaxing on the beach.
Mya Spivey
Dental Assistant
Mya graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, where she developed a strong foundation in the sciences and a deep appreciation for patient-centered healthcare. Throughout her undergraduate experience, she became especially interested in oral health and its connection to overall well-being, which solidified her decision to pursue a career in dentistry. Mya’s academic background has prepared her well for the rigorous coursework ahead, and she is excited to continue her education as she begins dental school in the Autumn of 2026. Working as a dental assistant has been an incredibly rewarding experience and has further confirmed Mya’s passion for the dental field. She enjoys being part of a team that helps patients feel comfortable and confident while receiving care, and she values the hands-on experience she gains each day. From assisting during procedures to building rapport with patients, Mya takes pride in contributing to a positive clinical environment. These experiences have strengthened her skills, professionalism, and enthusiasm for dentistry as she takes the next step toward becoming a dentist.
Phung Vu
Dental Hygienist
Phung is the skilled and knowledgeable Dental Hygienist at iSmile Family Dentistry. She graduated from Community College of Baltimore County with a Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is licensed in Maryland and certified to deliver local anesthetics and Nitrous Oxide. She is also a member of the American Dental Hygienist’s Association. Her focus is on providing high quality care to patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. She is a very skilled Dental Hygienist and is committed to making hygiene appointments a comfortable and positive experience for all of our patients. Originally from Vietnam, Phung has lived in Laurel, Maryland since 2007. In her spare time, Phung likes crafts, hiking, fishing, trying new and exciting cuisine, and traveling to fun places.
Mathieu Greenwood
Business Manager
Mathieu has been working at iSmile Family Dentistry since 2016 and is responsible for the Accounting, Business Development, and Marketing facets of the dental office. Mathieu is a graduate of nearby DeMatha Catholic High School and received his Bachelor’s from Mount St Mary’s in Maryland. His educational background is in Accounting & Finance. He has numerous years of experience in the Accounting field before he started working at iSmile Family Dentistry. In his free time, Mathieu enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing, traveling, and trying new exciting restaurants.
